A real address, read by the people who build it.
hello@verusapp.co.uk for anything at all, including abuse reports, which are looked at within 24 hours. Building against the API, or integrating Verus into something of your own: developers@verusapp.co.uk.
Things worth knowing before you write
I lost my phone. Can I get my messages back?
No, and nobody can. Your messages are encrypted with keys that only existed on that device. This is not a support limitation we could lift if we wanted to; it is the property you came for. Add a second device while you still have the first, and it carries your conversations forward.
Somebody is bothering me.
Open the conversation, then Block. It is immediate and needs nobody's approval. Report as well if you want us to act on the address: we can burn it, refuse it verification, and strip any claim attached to it.
My address is too long to tell someone.
Then do not. Show them the code to scan, or send them the link. The length is the reason nobody can forge one, and there is a page explaining exactly how long forging one would take.
What does the verified badge actually mean?
That Confrmo told us an account holder approved it, and, where Confrmo asserts it, that their live face was matched against an identity document Confrmo checked. It is a statement about an identity check, not a recommendation to trust somebody.
Can you read my messages if you are asked to?
No. The server holds ciphertext it has no key for, and it does not record who sent anything. If we are compelled to hand over what we hold, what we hold is an address, a public key, the day it was created, and any undelivered ciphertext. We would rather you knew that now than found out later.
Deleting my account.
The You tab, then Delete your account. What it removes is listed here.
